It might be easier telling “untruths” if you’re in the corner office, according to recent findings in a Columbia University study. This New York Post article highlights the findings of Professor Dana Carney who in an experiment randomly designated participants as,”leaders” or “subordinates.” Carney reaffirmed their roles with perks and power then, for the purpose of the study, instructed them to steal money and deny it repeatedly when questioned by a researcher. Findings showed that bosses experienced less of a stress reaction than subordinates when lying. So do you have to be a good liar to be a boss or a boss to be a good liar?
